ARCA seeks support to avoid the construction of the Beach Club
The Association for the Revitalization of Old Centers (ARCA) has started a collection of signatures with the aim of modifying the terrace model that is intended to be authorized in the Sant Pere bastion, where the construction of the Beach Club is being projected bastion
A necessary change to preserve heritage
ARCA urges the three bodies that form part of the Baluard’s board of trustees – the Government, the Council and the Palma City Council – to reconsider the terrace model to avoid an unnecessary and aggressive impact on this valuable heritage space. The entity demands a terrace that preserves its authenticity and avoids elements such as separating walls, awnings and unnecessary furniture.
A proposal for public awareness
In addition to the collection of signatures, ARCA proposes to the public to join in order to prevent the Beach Club in the Baluard from materializing. The entity reminds that it is not a matter of rejecting the presence of a bar or restaurant linked to the Museum, but of ensuring that this proposal does not encroach on the city’s heritage. If you wish to support the initiative, you can send your full name to ARCA’s WhatsApp: 638 16 88 41.
A strong public response
In just one day, ARCA has already received 150 adhesions to its proposal. The organization assures that it will continue to work to avoid the loss of the personality of this viewpoint and fundamental heritage for the city of Palma. Thus, citizen mobilization is key to achieving changes in the Baluard Beach Club project.
