An opportunity to make a dream come true
Claudia del Castillo has always had an interest in volunteering since she was a child. After almost four months in Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) Guatemala, she has been able to make her dream of volunteering come true. During this experience, he had the opportunity to work as a physiotherapist and had unforgettable moments with the little ones.
A stay full of emotions and learning
Arriving in Guatemala was a unique experience. Claudia was warmly received and felt integrated from the first moment. Despite the cultural differences, she was able to adapt quickly thanks to NPH’s welcome and support. This organization has a family vision, where everyone is considered part of the same family. The carers, volunteers and workers welcomed Claudia as one more.
During her stay, Claudia worked as a physical therapist with children with special needs. It was an intense task, but very rewarding. What struck Claudia the most was the love and appreciation she received from the children. In no time, he developed a special bond with them and experienced a unique connection.
A return with values and learning
After her experience in Guatemala, Claudia has learned important values such as sharing, empathizing and loving. Although it was difficult to return, as NPH became her second family, Claudia has been able to adapt to her everyday life with a new perspective. Now he values the little things more and has learned to see problems from a different perspective.
Claudia remains in contact with the children and the NPH volunteers. He maintains a close relationship with them and receives videos and messages to keep in touch. In addition, he has sponsored a child from the youngest group, a decision that has been very special for both of them.
