The Municipality of Vic and La Fero Ferotge promote La Renova
The Municipality of Vic, in collaboration with the cooperative La Fera Ferotge, has opened a new space for self-repair of small household appliances and computer and telephone devices called La Renova. This project aims to promote self-organized networks that generate changes in the model of production, distribution and consumption of products, goods and services to adapt to an economy that is fairer to people and the planet.
The Renova: Extending the Useful Life of Objects
Renova seeks to promote reuse and extend the useful life of objects. This self-repair space allows users to repair their small appliances, mobile phones and computers. In addition to repairs, La Renova also aims to generate community and open spaces for debate and exchange of experiences on the circular economy and reuse of resources.
A Space for Self-Learning and Citizen Participation
La Renova not only offers repair services, but also places a strong emphasis on self-learning for users. The goal is that people who bring their devices in for repair can understand what’s wrong with them and how to fix it. In addition, La Renova wants to be a community and participative space open to the neighborhood and the city, where knowledge and experiences related to sustainability and the circular economy can be shared.
La Renova: A Step Towards a More Sustainable Economy
The Renova is a concrete example of how we can move towards a more sustainable economy. By repairing and reusing objects, we can reduce the consumption of resources and decrease the generation of waste. In addition, this type of initiative promotes citizen participation and the creation of community, encouraging a paradigm shift in the production and consumption model.
