Agreement on Budgets
The Barcelona en Comú group has managed to reach an agreement with the municipal government of Jaume Collboni (PSC) to advance the first stage of the budgets proposed by the socialist government.
The commons have decided to allow the first budget process to take place, although until now they had maintained a more reluctant position in relation to a possible municipal government agreement.
This decision has been announced by BComú spokeswoman, Janet Sanz, from the headquarters of the formation, stating that it is the last chance they give the municipal government to move forward with the budgets.
Key Decision
Although it has not been specified the meaning of the votes of the commons in the extraordinary economic commission that will take place, it has been ensured that they will take the decision that is necessary to prevent the budgets from not thriving, as happened in a similar situation last October
It is also necessary to take into account the position of ERC, which is in talks for a possible coalition government with the PSC, although it has not yet expressed its official position regarding the new procedure for Collboni’s budgets.
Chronometer in motion
It has been noted that the conciliatory tone of the commons has a term of 30 days. If in this time the socialists do not present a government proposal that includes the commons to the municipal executive, the councilors of the Colau group will position themselves against Collboni’s budget in the final vote that will take place in the plenary at the end of March.
Credibility of Citizens
With this change of tone, the spokeswoman for the commons assures that the credibility of the citizens is obtained for a possible understanding of the left in the city, although she has stressed that this will not be an automatic fact.
