The Mossos of the Girona Police Station captured him on February 20 as the alleged perpetrator of three crimes of robbery with violence, one of illegal detention and one of minor bank fraud
The 24-year-old man was arrested thanks to an investigation that began at the end of January, when three violent and intimidating robberies were recorded in a fortnight, two in Girona and one in Salt.
The first robbery: forced him to withdraw 1,000 euros from a cashier
The first of the robberies took place on January 27, around a quarter to three in the morning, when the man surprised the victim in the hall of a building, in Girona, and took his mobile phone. He then forced her to accompany him to an ATM and withdraw 1,000 euros in cash.
The second robbery: he stole her mobile phone, watch and card
The second of the robberies happened on February 2, between two and three in the morning, when the man approached the complainant in the public car park of the Girona Cup and pushed him and threatened him verbally. In this case, he took her mobile phone, watch and wallet, which contained a card with which she made four purchases of less than 20 euros each.
The third theft: he made two bizums of 664 euros
The third and last robbery happened on February 10, around six in the morning, when the man caught the victim at the exit of a nightclub in Salt, immobilized her and groped her. He tore his jacket and, as he found nothing of value, forced him to make two bizums for a total of 664 euros.
The man was identified and arrested
The investigation by the Mossos made it possible to identify the perpetrator of the three robberies and finally arrested him on February 20. The police recovered the cell phone stolen from the victim in the second robbery. The investigation remains open. The detainee, with a history, was brought to the custody of Girona’s court on February 22.
