The sixth Sant Vicenç en Dansa will feature the participation of Esbart Maragall, one of Catalonia’s most veteran
Next Saturday, Sant Vicenç de Castellet will be the stage for the sixth edition of Sant Vicenç en Dansa, the Folk Dance Festival of the Catalan Countries that has already established itself as a benchmark in the cultural calendar of Saint Vincent. The festival, which aims to spread the diversity and richness of Catalan dance, is organized by the Esbart Dansaire Santvicentí, which this year will celebrate its 75 years of existence.
A tribute to the choreographer Eduard Ventura
Esbart Dansaire Santvicentí, the host group, will present part of their latest show Ventura, which premiered last December at the Teatre Conservatori de Manresa. It is a tribute to the choreographer Eduard Ventura, who was a key figure in the history of the organization and who renewed the language of Catalan dance. Spectators will be able to enjoy choreographies inspired by his work, such as La Festa Major, El Ball de l’Àliga or El Ball de Bastons.
A guest esbart of 92 years of history
Esbart Maragall, from Sant Andreu del Palomar, will be the guest esbart of this edition. It is one of the oldest esbarts in Catalonia, with 92 years of history, which has participated in numerous festivals and competitions both nationally and internationally. Esbart Maragall will offer a repertoire of traditional dances, such as Ballant amb Al Tall, the Pla del Rossinyol Dance, the Gypsy Dance or the Espardenya Dance, among others.

The sixth Sant Vicenç en Dansa will take place on Saturday at 9 pm in the Sala Cal Soler in Sant Vicenç de Castellet. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Jordi Largo Fotograf or at the box office, on the day of the show, at a price of 6 euros.
