Arrests and Incomes in Prison
Five members of a suspected criminal group have entered provisional prison after the National Police and the Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a total of 14 people. This group is suspected of cultivating marijuana in luxury homes in Maresme, Barcelona, with the alleged intention of selling it on the European illegal market. One of the arrests took place at Barcelona-el Prat Airport. The arrests were carried out on March 13, and in this operation eight entries and searches were carried out at different homes, where 110 kilos of marijuana buds and 7,000 plants in different states of flowering were seized.
Clan Familiar i Antecedents
This alleged criminal network is believed to be led by a family clan, with most members living in the Maresme for years. Despite this, they occasionally used the services of third parties. The leaders of the group have a history in the Netherlands for drug trafficking before settling in Spain.
Modus Operandi and Judicial Detentions
Members of this alleged organization rented isolated luxury homes, paying large sums of money to go unnoticed by the authorities. After the arrests, the suspects went to court on March 15, and a judge ordered the entry into provisional prison pending trial for five of the members.
