The Electoral Posters and Slogans of the Different Parties
Next June 9, the citizens of Catalonia are called to the polls to decide the Catalan representatives in the European Parliament. Beyond the words in the rallies and in the electoral spots, it is interesting to analyze everything that is communicated to us non-verbally through the electoral posters and their slogans.
Together–Free for Europe
From Junts per Catalunya, it is betting on the name “Free for Europe” to face these new elections. The background of the poster is the cyan blue characteristic of the old Convergència i Unió, but which also reminds us of the color of the European flag. They use a choral poster with the busts of all the candidates, with the slogan “to keep winning in Europe”.
PSC
The PSC presents a poster with the sea as a background landscape. The slogan “More Europe” and the appearance of the addition symbol, the bar and the heart, are prominent elements.
ERC
Esquerra Republicana is trying to recover from the decline of the past elections and is doing so by putting its leader, Oriol Junqueras, back at the head of the campaign. They use a floral, spring background with blurred vegetation.
Commons-Sumar
The Commons put Jaume Asens as head of the list. On the poster, Asens appears with a blue background, playing with the idea of blue as an institutional symbol and of the European flag.
They can
Podemos presents a poster with Irene Montero as leader. His campaign is very provocative and criticizes an attitude that one adopts as resignation.
PP
The PP presents Dolors Montserrat as a candidate for Europe with the slogan “your vote is the answer”.
Citizens
The Oranges present Jordi Cañas as a European candidate with the intention of presenting “Team Spain” for the European Parliament.
Vox
Vox presents a poster with the slogan “Nos van a oír” and its candidate, Jorge Buxadé, appears on the poster accompanied by Abascal.
