From the Royal Congregation of the Pure Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ of Reus, dean entity of the Holy Week in Reus, announce that, by agreement of the Board of Governors, journalist Xavier Graset has been appointed as herald of Holy Week 2024 and Foraster, who has a long professional career and has roots in the festive tradition of Reus.
The act of shouting
The act of proclaiming will take place on Passion Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 8 p.m., in the Higini Anglès Auditorium at Palau Bofarull, headquarters in Reus of the Tarragona County Council.
The Easter poster
The poster that has been published this year consists of a photograph by Joan Ferran and shows in detail the feet of the Venerated Image of Sant Crist de la Sang.
Traditional activities
The organization informs that they are working on the preparation of all the events that they traditionally organize these days of Lent, Holy Week and Easter. Among the novelties, it stands out that this year the traditional route of the Solemn Procession of the Holy Burial, on Good Friday in the evening, will be restored.
The procession of the Three Graces
This procession has been held in Reus since at least 1557 and the congregations, confraternities and confraternities of Reus Holy Week take part in it, with the express invitation of the Royal Congregation.
Claiming traditional heritage
The Royal Congregation is currently working to obtain recognition for this procession, as the “Three Graces” and the “Function of the Coronation of the Lord” already enjoy. Any alteration of the traditional route or of participating elements without having been previously evaluated could cause serious difficulties in this integrative and city project.
