Development of the Russian Attacks
Overnight, Russia launched an offensive against Ukrainian territory, using almost 90 missiles and more than 60 Shahid drones. The targets of the attacks included power plants and transmission lines, as well as a hydroelectric plant and residential buildings.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has regretted the losses caused by the attacks and has highlighted the importance of having more robust air defense systems to protect the country from future Russian aggression.
Restoration of Electrical Supply
Ukrainian authorities are working to restore electricity supplies in several provinces affected by the attacks, including Kharkiv, Sumi, Zaporizhzhia, Odessa, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyy, Vinnitsa and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Targets of Attacks
Zelensky has noted that Russian attacks have targeted key infrastructure such as power plants, energy supply lines, a hydroelectric plant and residential areas, including a trolleybus in Dnipropetrovsk, evidencing a clear intention to harm the daily lives of the population.
Protection Request
The Ukrainian president has requested the support of allies to reinforce air defense and protect the population and infrastructure from future attacks. He has emphasized the need to extend the air shield to other regions of Ukraine to ensure the safety of all citizens.
