A Different Christmas at the Palau de la Música

Christmas is a time that evokes fond memories with those we love most. This year, why not add a special touch to our celebrations? A visit to the Palau de la Música can be the perfect experience to enrich our traditional evenings.

An Exclusive Repertoire for the Holidays

The ‘Christmas at the Palace’ cycle, organized by the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, invites us to enjoy the works of great composers such as Lamote de Grignon, Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi. This event will not only allow us to enjoy music, but will also help us rediscover the cultural heritage of Catalonia.

Claiming Musical Heritage

Among the outstanding pieces, there is the symphonic poem ‘Puigsoliu’ by Joaquim Serra and the oratorio ‘La nit de Nadal’ by Joan Lamote de Grignon, a composer who deserves to be remembered for his contribution to 20th century Catalan music. The talents of Ferran Albrich and Elionor Martínez will shine in the solo parts, under the baton of Salvador Brotons.

The Messiah: An Essential Classic

For many, Christmas is not complete without listening to Handel’s ‘Messiah’. This year, the concert will take place on December 22, conducted by Xavier Puig and featuring the Baroque Orchestra Vespres d’Arnadí and the Bruckner Choir. Soloists Maria Hinojosa, Marta Infante, Guillem Batllori and Marc Sala will enrich this experience.

A Baroque Tradition

In addition, the ensemble Vespres d’Arnadí will resume its Christmas tradition with ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi, a work that promises to move thanks to the skill of violinist Farran Sylvan James and the direction of Dani Espasa.

Activities for the Whole Family

The series also includes a family proposal with ‘The Nutcracker’ by Tchaikovsky. Through the narration of Luis Posada and the sand art of Borja González, the little ones will be able to experience a magical story accompanied by the music of the Simfònica del Vallès.

The New Year’s Waltz Concert

We cannot forget the New Year’s waltz concert, conducted by Isabel Rubio, a tradition that has found a special place in the hearts of Catalans.

A Musical Journey through the Classics

Finally, the concert of musical classics, directed by Marc Timón, will transport us to the Anglo-Saxon world with songs from ‘West Side Story’, ‘La La Land’ and many others. It will be an opportunity to dance and enjoy the melodies that have accompanied us throughout the years.

With such a varied musical offering, this Christmas at the Palau de la Música invites us to create unforgettable memories and share special moments with our loved ones.
