Demolished measurement towers

The two large towers that were erected exactly one year ago in the Albera area, in the Jonquera municipality, to measure the wind that blows there as a preliminary step to the installation of the wind farm Galatea, they have appeared completely demolished. The scrap metal of the anemometers and all their components remains scattered around the places where the towers had been built, and despite the fact that at first there was a rumor of a possible dismantling by the developer company, Enel Green Power he immediately denied.

Complaint and confirmation

The Endesa subsidiary that is promoting the Galatea confirmed that they were not in the process of removing the towers. “Therefore, seeing exactly how the two have fallen at the same time, it is clear that they have not fallen naturally and that, in addition, it looks like an act of vandalism,” said one of its spokeswomen. Faced with this situation, the company has filed a complaint with the Mossos d’Esquadra for the damage caused to its facilities.

Continuity of the project

The promoter also states that, a year after their installation, the towers had already “fulfilled their function”. “We already have all the data we needed and, therefore, we will continue with the project”, they say.
