Complaint Against Gender Violence and Local Proposals
On Thursday the 21st, the plenary session for the month of March was held, which began with the monthly complaint against male violence by two representatives of the Women’s Council. Anna Mallofré, a member of the Colla Les Banyeteres, and Alícia Feito, a member of the Casal de la Dona, were in charge of reading the 8M manifesto in plenary.
Local Scope Motions
The Board of Spokespersons presented three proposals at the local level. The Councilor for Equality, Feminism and LGBTI, Mònica Lafuente, read the Manifesto on the occasion of International Women’s Day which supports the declaration of the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia. The document highlights progress in the field of equality between men and women, but urges local administrations to continue working to achieve full equality.
The representatives of the Consultative Council for the Elderly of Baix Llobregat read a summary of the opinion that vindicates the public pension system as a constitutional right. In addition, the adhesion to the Institutional Declaration of the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia on the occasion of the European Day in Remembrance for the Victims of Terrorism was presented.
Approval of the Public Prices of the Fair and Political Motions
In the area of Attention to Citizens and Open Administration, the public prices of this year’s Baix Llobregat Commercial and Industrial Fair were put to a vote. The councilor for Economic Development, Jaume Manyoses, explained the increase in La Fira prices and the free local trade bonus for this year’s La Fira.
Beyond economic issues, from Sant Feliu En Comú Podemos they were satisfied with the maintenance of the Fair model implemented in the last mandate.
Extension of the Cleaning Service and Municipal Buildings Contract
One of the most outstanding topics of the session was the forced extension of the contract for the cleaning service of municipal buildings and outbuildings which was approved with the favorable vote of all the groups and the vote against ERC.
