Javier Milei charges against Pedro Sánchez
The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, continues to express his discontent towards the Spanish president, Pedro Sánchez. During an interview, Milei described Sánchez as ‘incompetent, a liar and a coward’, and stated that he is ‘the laughingstock of Europe in diplomatic matters’. These statements are due to Moncloa’s decision to recall the Spanish ambassador in Buenos Aires. Milei presents himself as a victim of the Spanish president’s attacks, claiming that he has been the target of several attacks. According to the Argentine’s version, his words during a Vox event were simply a defense.
Time magazine highlights Milei
Time magazine has dedicated its latest cover to an extensive report on the Argentine president. This report highlights Milei’s lack of political ability to carry out his long-term structural reforms and, at the same time, minimize the social unrest that these can generate and that could divert his course. The report, which consists of 16 pages, includes an interview with the president that lasted one hour and took place in the Casa Rosada. In addition, testimonies are collected from nine different people, both from Milei’s environment and from the university environment and the street.
Milei maintains her trip to Spain
Despite the tensions, Milei has announced through social networks that she has no intention of canceling her trip to Spain on June 21 to receive a Hazte Oír award. In a message on Twitter, the Argentine president declared: ‘We will see how far totalitarianism goes in blood… Warning, I will travel to receive the Juan de Mariana Prize.’ Furthermore, he added: ‘We will see if his great inferiority complex allows the Spanish liberals to award me in person.’
