Queen Letizia’s past maiden home

Before her marriage to King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia lived in an apartment located in the Madrid neighborhood of Valdebernardo. This apartment was her home, her maiden home, and from there she traveled daily to the TVE News studios, where she worked as a presenter. However, after her wedding, Letizia moved to the Zarzuela Palace and gave her old house to her sister Érika, who had just ended her relationship with her partner, Antonio. Vigo.

Queen Letizia’s wedding dress

On May 22, 2004, Letizia Ortiz married the then Prince Felipe in the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid. On that special day, Letizia wore a spectacular dress designed by Manuel Pertegaz. The dress, which captured the attention of more than 1,200 guests, was the center of attention and symbolized the beginning of a new stage in Letizia’s life. Although the wedding day was rainy, the sun seemed to shine from inside the Almudena Cathedral, where the newlyweds began their life together as kings.

Letizia Ortiz’s life after the wedding

Letizia and Felipe’s wedding generated a great media stir and became a topic of conversation on social networks, the media and television talk shows. Now, 20 years later, the life of this couple has changed a lot and they have decided to celebrate their anniversary with their daughters, Leonor and Sofía, in a tender family pose that has moved everyone.

The sale of Letizia’s old apartment

After Letizia left her apartment in Valdebernardo, her sister Érika moved there with her daughter. However, three years later, in February 2007, Érika was found dead inside her apartment. This tragic news was devastating for Letizia, who at the time was also pregnant with Infanta Sofía. After a while, Letizia decided to put the apartment up for sale in June of that same year. The apartment was quickly sold for €230,000 and the new owners carried out some renovations before moving in. Currently, that same family continues to live in what was Queen Letizia’s former maiden home.
