A new direction for the festival
The festival that was traditionally held in January on the occasion of the feast of Sant Antoni will not continue in 2025. This decision has generated various reactions, since for three years it has been an important step to give muscle to the cultural fabric of La Massana, offering a window of entry to new talents and having achieved success with a thousand attendees at the last edition.
Reactions and ratings
The promoter of the contest during the last legislature, Forné, has expressed his concern and has suggested that there could be political reasons for the suspension, although he has emphasized that culture should not have a political color. On the other hand, the Consul Major, Eva Sansa, has denied that there are political reasons behind this decision and has raised the possibility that the musical performances could take place at more established events.
Perspectives futures
The suspension of the festival has opened the door to the possibility that musical performances can be integrated into other cultural events in La Massana, such as the Serenalla or Andoflora, and the presence of music during the Sant Antoni festival in other formats is not ruled out.
