The Naiades Choir and the Regina Choir come together to perform the “Birdsong”
The Naiades Choir and the Regina Choir of Manlleu have worked together to interpret the famous “Birdsong” by Bernat Vivancos. This musical collaboration has been recorded in a video that captures the performance in the parish of Santa Maria de Manlleu. The project has had the participation of thirty singers, including Belen Barnaus from the Francesc Valls Choir of the Barcelona Cathedral and Buia Reixach, former director of the Naiades Choir. The aim of this initiative was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cor Naiades with a big concert, but due to the pandemic, they had to look for other ways to share their music.
A project that keeps Manlleucan culture alive
The Naiades Choir had planned a special concert to commemorate his birthday, but health restrictions forced the postponement of this event. To maintain the spirit and excitement of the concert, the choir decided to make this video in collaboration with the Regina Choir. Thus, despite the difficulties, the Manlleucan choirs and Manlleucan culture continue to be active and show their passion for music. The video of the “Birdsong” can also be heard on Ràdio Manlleu in the special Christmas program and in Plaça Fra Bernadí, through the loudspeakers installed by the ice rink.
A message of hope and unity in difficult times
This musical collaboration between the Naiades Choir and the Regina Choir is an example of how music can unite people and convey a message of hope in difficult times. Despite the adversities, these choirs have found a way to share their passion and keep Manlleu’s musical culture alive. The “Birdsong” is an emblematic piece that symbolizes the strength and beauty of choral music, and this joint performance is a testament to the dedication and talent of the singers and conductors involved.
