Summer schedules and extended access

From this Tuesday, the Picasso Museum implements its summer time, which will extend until October 12. With the aim of facilitating access to art, the museum has increased the visit hours and extended the options of free entrance. This initiative seeks mainly to attract the local audience and foster greater involvement with space.

Picasso invites: An experience for everyone

One of the most important new features is the recovery of the ‘Picasso Invita’ initiative, which is celebrated on Thursdays, Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 9pm. During these days, visitors will be able to participate in free guided tours in Catalan at 7pm, although it is recommended to reserve in advance, as the places are limited.

A message of inclusion

Tonina Cerdà, responsible for the public programs of the Museum, shares that the purpose of these initiatives is to make art more accessible and connect with the community. ‘Picasso was a generous artist who shared his work with the city. We want to do the same with citizens, ” he says.

Encouraging the museum’s use by locals

With 20% of local visitors, the Museum seeks to increase this figure so that the community feels more identified with the space. “We want more and more citizens to consider the museum as a part of their home,” says Cerdà.

New Focus and Advantages Program for Museum Friends

In addition to guided tours, the museum presents the Focus program, which consists of short five -minute presentations focused on specific works. These sessions will be completed spontaneously during the opening hours.

To attract more local audiences, the museum launched the ‘friend/ga of the Picasso Museum’ card in February, designed by those who wish to access the museum unlimitedly. With an annual fee of 40 euros, members enjoy free entrance, discounts at Café Pablo and the bookstore, as well as a 50% discount on payment activities.
