The durability of the Spanish legislature is being questioned amid an escalation of political tension and disqualification of institutions. The Koldo case and the Ayuso case have generated a climate of tension and verbal attacks, testing the Spanish government’s ability to withstand this situation.
The qualitative leap since the Koldo case exploded, followed by the Ayuso case, has raised the verbal crusher to the point that the question now is how much the political climate and public conversation can withstand this planned tension, what level of attacks and fallacies is sustainable before collapsing.
The firmness of the professional associations in the face of this situation has been unanimous, but the screen change predates MAR’s invitation. There are two levels in this situation, with the Madrid PP operating differently to other communities, generating complications for Génova.
The disqualification of institutions
The disqualification of institutions is a worrying trend observed in Spanish politics. The right has decided to disqualify any institution that does not agree with it, resorting to various actions such as appealing to the Conflict of Interest Office against Begoña Gómez, wife of Pedro Sánchez, and charging the Conflict of Interest Office for impartiality
This dynamic has also been repeated against other institutions and people, such as the alleged leak of the Treasury and the actions of the public prosecutor in Madrid. This has normalized attacks on institutions and the press, without perceiving the damage it entails for coexistence.
Thus, there is a change in debate and ideological confrontation to permanent disqualification and personal butchery from the major parties, endangering coexistence and the integrity of institutions.
