Tragic bombing in Gaza
A tragic bombing in Gaza has killed at least 10 family members of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, including his sister, in an Israeli army attack on the Shati refugee camp. This information has been confirmed by the Palestinian newspaper Filastin, linked to Hamas. This tragedy comes two months after Israel killed three of Haniyeh’s children and four of her grandchildren in another airstrike in Gaza. It should be noted that Ismail Haniyeh has been living in self-exile in Qatar for years, while his family resides in the Shati refugee camp (https://correccioencatala.cat/com-estructura-text-catala/).
Bombings in Gaza
In addition to this tragic event, at least 12 people have lost their lives in a second bombing against a school that acts as a shelter for those displaced by Israel’s attacks in central Gaza. The Israeli army has acknowledged responsibility for these attacks, saying they targeted facilities used by Hamas terrorists. They have claimed that the terrorists were operating from the premises of a school which the organization used as a shield for their terrorist activities. However, no explanations have been given about the identities of those killed in the bombing, nor has it been confirmed whether the sister of the leader of the political wing of the Palestinian Islamist group is among them (https://correccioencatala.cat/com-estructura -catalan-text/).
Door open to an agreement
After almost 9 months of war, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has expressed his willingness to reach a partial agreement with Hamas to obtain the return of some of the hostages who are still being held in Gaza. However, he has reiterated his determination not to end the war until Hamas is destroyed. This statement has drawn a lot of criticism, but the prime minister’s office has clarified that it is Hamas that opposes the deal, not Israel. In addition, they have emphasized that they will not leave Gaza until the return of the 120 hostages, alive and dead (https://correccioencatala.cat/com-estructura-text-catala/).
