A meeting for the community
On Sunday 18 February, coinciding with the first Sunday of Lent, a Gathering of the parishes of the archpriest of Vilafranca del Penedès was held. This pastoral initiative took place within the framework of the Synod of the universal Church, which invites us to walk together, and of the diocesan objective of the bishopric of Sant Feliu, which has as its motto “Called to be People”.
A call for all
The Gathering was a call open to all the faithful of the parishes, with the aim of fostering the community and feeling part of God’s people in this territory. About 150 people participated, coming from most of the 30 parishes that are part of the archpriest.
A meeting in a special environment
The Gathering was held in the parish of Santa Margarida y les Monjos, with a warm welcome and a presentation of the event inside the church. Then, at 5:30 p.m., a Stations of the Cross was held in the outdoor spaces, accompanied by the image of Saint Christ from the Monks parish. The archpriest, priest Joan Ramon Bullit, presided over the event, and the Portants of Vilafranca, Torrelles de Foix and Sant Martí Sarroca participated in the Way of the Cross. It should be noted that the fourteen stations were read by representatives of the different parishes.
A satisfying ending
After the Stations of the Cross, refreshments were provided with donuts from the Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Gathering concluded at seven in the afternoon, with the satisfaction of all participants.
