A record year for Aena
Aena, the main airport manager in Spain, has closed the year 2023 with the best result in its history. The company has achieved profits of 1,630.8 million euros, an increase of 80.9% compared to the previous year. In terms of passenger traffic, Aena has recorded an increase of 16.2% in Spain, with a total of 283.2 million passengers in 2023. At group level, which includes the airports of London-Luton and North- east of Brazil, growth was 16%, with a total of 314.1 million passengers.
Dividends and financial situation
Aena has announced that it will propose to the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders the distribution of a dividend of 7.66 gross euros per share charged to the results of the financial year 2023. This will benefit both private and public shareholders. In the previous financial year, the remuneration to shareholders was 4.75 euros gross per share.
Regarding the financial situation, Aena’s ebitda has increased by 45.4% compared to the previous year, reaching 3,022.6 million euros in 2023. In addition, the group’s financial debt has has reduced to 6,222 million euros, with a ratio of net financial debt over ebitda of 2.06 times.
