Manlleu approves the budget for 2021
Manlleu City Council has approved the budget for 2021, which amounts to 22,474,000 euros. This decision was taken with covid-19 as a backdrop and with votes against the PSC and the CUP.
Budget approval and details
The Manlleu City Council’s budget for 2021 has been approved with an amount almost identical to that of 2020. A special emphasis has been placed on guaranteeing the social and health emergency generated by covid-19, with an item of half a million euros intended to deal with emergencies related to the pandemic.
Financial expenses have decreased by 14%, indicating a reduction in the council’s debt. 75% of the budget will be allocated to personnel, goods and services, and important investments are planned, such as the 700,000 euros for the new local police station and the 603,000 euros for the modernization plan for estates.
Income and debt
It is expected to obtain significant income from other administrations, with a forecast to increase current transfers by up to 35%. In addition, more debt is expected to be generated to execute new city projects during 2021.
Opposition and vote against
Both the Socialist Party and the CUP Manlleu voted against the budget, regretting not having been able to participate in its preparation. They consider that the budgets do not respond to the city model and show concern for the management of resources.
