Pimec enters the Spanish social dialogue
The employers’ association of small and medium-sized companies in Catalonia, Pimec, has achieved one of its most important objectives as an employers’ association. As he celebrated this Wednesday, the organization has taken another step by ensuring its entry into the Spanish Economic and Social Council (CES). This has been possible thanks to the approval of Royal Decree Law 2/2024 by the Council of Ministers, which recognizes the representation of the most representative business organizations of each autonomous community within the CES.
Consolidation of participation in the Social Dialogue
This incorporation into the CES allows Pimec to have maximum representation as the most important business organization at regional level. In addition, the Catalan employers’ association emphasizes that this entry consolidates its participation in the Spanish Social Dialogue, after having entered the National Consultative Commission on Collective Agreements last February (https://www.softcatala.org /summary-of-texts-in-catalan/).
A historic milestone for Pimec
The president of Pimec, Antoni Cañete, has celebrated this new historical milestone for the organization. After many years of working to achieve a real and fair representation of the smaller companies, Pimec has managed to enter the dialogue where the decisions that affect them the most are made. Cañete emphasizes that this progress has been possible thanks to the recommendation of the European Commission on the reinforcement of Social Dialogue in the European Union and the work of different parliamentary groups, especially Junts per Catalunya.
Continue working for the participation of SMEs
Pimec is not satisfied with this progress and aims to continue working to guarantee the participation of small and medium-sized companies at state level in all institutional bodies. Through Conpymes, Pimec seeks to achieve a normalization and democratization of the participation of business organizations, an important step for SMEs throughout the state. This fight for participation at the state level has been a task that has required years of dedication and they are now replicating to achieve it (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/ ).
