The strike was called off after intense negotiations
The labor conflict at the Danone factory in Parets del Vallès seems to be headed for a positive resolution. The committee of the Vallesana plant and the management of the company have reached a preliminary agreement that has allowed the strike that started last Saturday to be called off due to the possible closure of the facilities.
Agreement that contemplates different beneficial measures
Among the measures agreed are early retirement for 33 employees from the age of 55, severance pay and the transfer of 37 workers to the Aldaia plant in the Valencian Country. These decisions have been considered very satisfactory by the company committee after long and intense negotiations.
Relocations and compensations approved
The management of the company has accepted the requests of the workers, including early retirements and redeployment of the staff to other plants. The president of the works committee, Jordi Barragan, has highlighted the importance of maintaining operations at the Parets del Vallès factory and has underlined the importance of the redeployments and agreed compensations.
Voting to ratify the agreement
After the day of negotiations, the workers are called to vote on Wednesday to ratify the agreement reached. It is expected that the final decision will not be known until well into the night, after the informative assemblies this Tuesday.
