The film festival about the brain wants to pay tribute to Jordi Solé Tura from Mollet

From March 13 to 17, the Center for Contemporary Culture in Barcelona will be the setting for the seventh edition of the Brain Film Fest XIV Solé Tura Award. It is an international film event dedicated to the brain, promoted by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and Minimal Films, with the support, among other entities, of Mollet Town Council.

The Brain Film Fest will award the XIV Solé Tura Award to recently produced documentaries about the brain, with the aim of raising awareness of brain situations and the social repercussion of its pathologies, promoting audiovisual creation and remembering the personality of Jordi Solé Tura . This award is promoted by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, the Uszheimer Foundation and Minimal Films.

The brain and emotions, protagonists of the programming

In this edition, the festival will offer various activities, such as the screening of short films and feature films, round tables and workshops, which will focus on the brain and emotions of children and adolescents, the distinction between ageism and aging, how we treat people grains or how the brain evolves according to biological gender, menopause or how artificial intelligence can determine biological age.

The festival will open on Wednesday March 13 with the screening of La memória infinita, the latest film by Chilean director and producer Maite Alberdi, who will be awarded the Brain Film Fest 2024 Special Award in recognition of her career .

As for the programming, in the special competitive section, the screening of the film 20,000 species of bees, the first work of the Basque director Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren, awarded with the Berlinale Os de Plata and 3 Goya awards, stands out.

The Solé Tura award, a memory of the politician from Mollet

The Solé Tura award (for the best short film, the best feature film and the one awarded by the audience attending the theater) will be announced on the closing day of the festival.

Mollet Town Council has collaborated with this contest since its first edition through the Center for Studies for Democracy Jordi Solé Tura, which aims to spread the figure and the political and intellectual work of the politician muffin
