Transformation in tourism for the elderly
With the arrival of the new travel season, Imserso is preparing to make exciting changes that will benefit a large number of pensioners across the country. This initiative not only offers affordable holidays, but also seeks to enrich the experience of older travelers with options adapted to their needs.
Key changes in the hiring and organization of travel
The Government has indicated that the tender for travel services for this season will be carried out between July and September 2025. This broad period is necessary to guarantee a fair and transparent selection process, taking into account the complexity of public procurement and the possible challenges that could arise.
Access facilities for pensioners with less resources
One of the most important measures is the establishment of a fixed price of 50 euros for pensioners with limited income. Those who receive non-contributory pensions will be able to benefit from this rate, regardless of the place chosen to travel, so that the economy is not an impediment to enjoying a well-deserved vacation.
New options and comforts for travelers
In addition to greater access, Imserso will also introduce innovations that will make travel more comfortable. For the first time, pensioners will have the opportunity to travel with their pets to coastal destinations, a change that reflects greater flexibility and attention to travelers’ preferences.
Distribution of places and flexibility on the dates
To avoid agglomerations during the periods of maximum demand, the places will be assigned monthly. About 36% of the places will be available each month, thus allowing better planning and accessibility throughout the year. In addition, an additional cost of 100 euros is expected to travel in high season.
Improvement of quality in accommodation
The program not only focuses on the quantity, but also on the quality of the services offered. All hotels that participate will have to have a minimum of three stars and offer appropriate leisure activities, thus ensuring that each pensioner has a satisfactory experience during their stay.
A new vision for pensioners’ holidays
With these novelties, IMSERSO is positioned as a pioneer in creating a travel program that is not only accessible, but also promotes a quality experience and adapted to the needs of pensioners. The 2025-2026 season promises to be an important step towards a greater inclusion and diversification in tourism for the elderly.
