Promotion of care and the social economy
The seventh Àgora Fair, organized by the Ateneu Cooperative de les Terres de l’Ebre and the Ulldecona City Council, is celebrated under the motto **the value of people**. This event, which will take place on Saturday 13 April in Ulldecona, aims to put the focus on the tasks of care workers, which have often been made invisible and precarious. The fair wants to show that caregiving tasks go beyond the family sphere and are essential for people’s physical and emotional well-being.
Making care tasks visible
The Àgora Fair seeks to take the tasks of the care workers out into the street and make them visible. Through this event, we want to highlight the importance of care and collectivize it. The organizers affirm that people have a value that is shown through the affection, time and energy that they dedicate to each other. Thus, the fair wants to demonstrate the interdependence of people and how being a collective makes them stronger.
Spaces and activities of the fair
The Àgora Fair will be divided into several spaces and activities. The Espai Ateneu will offer information about the fair, a Support Point for projects in progress and a space for Conversations with talks about initiatives related to the central theme. The Àgora Space will host a talk on the environments of caregivers, a dialogue on feminist struggles and other related topics, and a talk by Lamine Bathily, representative of the social and solidarity clothing brand Top Manta. There will also be an exhibition space with social economy and cooperative stalls from the Terres de l’Ebre, as well as a children’s space with a toy library service. In addition, there will be a collaborative storefront on Carrer Major, where everyone can introduce themselves and make connections.
