Unilever plans a restructuring with global impact

The British multinational Unilever has announced a plan that will involve the reduction of 7,500 jobs worldwide in the next three years. This decision is part of a reform program aimed at saving around 800 million euros.

Aim to improve the performance of the group

CEO Hein Shumacher leads this new strategy focused on improving business performance. The cuts will mainly apply to the group’s offices as part of a wide-ranging restructuring programme.

Unilever products and global presence

Unilever is known for brands such as Dove, Knorr, Frigo, Magnum, Ben & Jerry’s, Hellmann’s, Calvé and Ligeresa. Headquartered in London, the company has 6,000 employees in the UK and more than 128,000 worldwide.

Commitment to efficiency and productivity

The CEO has expressed his disappointment with the group’s results the previous year. With the restructuring, Unilever plans to invest in technology to improve productivity and reduce costs. The goal is to do less, but better, with greater impact.

Schumacher has assured that the announced changes will accelerate the action plan for the growth of the company. They undertake to carry out the cuts and restructuring with the participation of the workers and respecting those affected.
