Alcoi advances the Moors and Christians Festivals
This year, Alcoi has the opportunity to celebrate Book Day on April 23, thanks to the advance of the Moors and Christians Festivals. This decision allows the traditional date of the celebration to coincide with Sant Jordi’s day, a very important literary holiday.
Discounts and gifts for readers
A total of 10 bookstores in the city participate in this initiative. Those who buy a book on April 23 will enjoy a 10% discount and will also receive a special work as a gift. This work, edited by the City Council, contains photographs by the renowned artist Elías Seguí. 2,000 copies of this limited edition have been printed.
Presentation and collaborators
The presentation of this initiative was attended by the councilor for Cultural Heritage, Ignacio Trelis, the director of the Municipal Library, Josep Lluís Santonja, representatives of the participating bookstores, as well as Mónica Corbí and Juan Javier Gisbert, linked to Elías Seguí . All of them emphasized the quality of the work of this renowned artist.
Other activities related to Book Day
In addition to discounts and gifts, the Municipal Library will organize a special activity to celebrate Book Day and commemorate 10 years of ‘La Maria no té por’. This activity will take place this Thursday evening and we invite all lovers of reading to participate.
