A new primary care center in Torreblanca
The construction project of a Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP) in Torreblanca is underway. This centre, located in a Regional Council building in Torreblanca Park, will provide uninterrupted service for 24 hours, focusing exclusively on emergency care. This initiative aims to decongest the Moisès Broggi Hospital’s emergency service. In addition, the new CUAP will serve several municipalities in Baix Llobregat, including Sant Feliu.
Agreement between the Regional Council and the Catalan Health Service
Recently, the president of the Regional Council, Josep Perpinyà, and the director of the Catalan Health Service, Adrià Comella, have formalized the agreement whereby the Regional Council cedes a building in Torreblanca Park for this health facility. This collaboration will allow the new CUAP to offer service to several municipalities, improving accessibility to emergency medical care.
Benefits for Sant Feliu and other municipalities
The creation of this CUAP will be a great benefit for the citizens of Sant Feliu, as it will facilitate access to emergency services during the night hours. This initiative will put an end to eight years without a nighttime emergency service in Sant Feliu, eliminating the need to travel to the Moisès Broggi Hospital in Sant Joan Despí. In addition, other municipalities of Baix Llobregat will also benefit from this new primary care center.
Investment and planning
According to the director of CatSalut, the creation of this center is part of Catalonia’s national emergency plan. An initial investment of 2.5 billion euros has been announced to launch this equipment, highlighting its importance and commitment to improving emergency services in the region.
