Introduction
Oriol Bossa i Prades was born in Sant Feliu de Llobregat on May 28, 1980. He graduated in Political Science and Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has a Master’s in Political Analysis from the Open University of Catalonia. His involvement in local politics began in 2003 as a member of ERC in Sant Feliu, where he served as president of the local section from 2011 to 2015. Since 2015, he has served as a councilor in Sant Feliu City Council and held the position of mayor during 2022 until the elections of May 2023, where they lost the mayorship. Currently, ERC represents the second strength of the council. In this interview, after 9 months of the new legislature, the actions and decisions of the current government are discussed, as well as the dialogues, attitudes and the future of the Republican party.
Evaluation of the First Period of the New Government
After 9 months since the formation of the new government (PSC-TTSF-VxSF), Oriol Bossa i Prades expresses a negative assessment. He considers that the image of this government, at least from his point of view, is disappointing. During these 9 months, he has perceived an oppositionist attitude, especially during plenary sessions, with a tendency towards confrontation and an aggressive tone, mainly on the part of two of the three parties that make up the current government. In addition, from ERC, it is considered that a large part of the actions of this government have been aimed at dismantling projects promoted by them, such as the proposal of the Catalan Football Federation, the Hospitality School or the doubts about the transfer of CAP Rambla. Likewise, they are perceived as part of a PSC solo government, with two parties that seem to have a secondary role and do not contribute significant projects. This perception raises the question of the true intention of these parties in wanting to be part of the government.
conclusion
The assessment of the management of the new government in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, according to Oriol Bossa i Prades, reveals an image of disenchantment and a sense of lack of collaboration and significant contribution by all members of the government. This assessment, from ERC’s perspective, raises questions about the direction and priorities of this new political stage in the town.
