The Transfer Contest at SESCAM
The UGT union has urged the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (SESCAM) to provide information on the allocation of places in the regional Transfer Competition. This contest, called on June 28, 2023, is reaching its provisional resolution phase.
Squares and Changes
The rules of the contest established a provisional resolution period of six months from the closing of the submission of applications, which was extended until August 16. Compared to the previous call, this system offers a total of 10,595 vacant places, with a results system. If a professional who currently occupies a position obtains a new position in the same process, the available positions are assigned.
Mobility and Job Improvement
Professionals of different categories have the opportunity to voluntarily change the location of their jobs within healthcare settings. This includes the possibility of moving from hospitals to the Primary Care field, changing town or province, or even transferring your place to SESCAM from another Health Service. For many professionals from Castilla-La Mancha, this means the opportunity to return to work in their region of origin after having obtained a permanent position in neighboring health services, such as those in Madrid.
Reconciliation and Quality of Life
The mobility process responds to professional concerns and seeks to improve working conditions. More favorable work schedules and the possibility of getting closer to the usual family residence are key factors. SESCAM has highlighted that these processes, both internal and external in the National Health System, contribute to the quality of life of health professionals in the region.
UGT and the participating professionals themselves urge a quick resolution of the contest so that they can begin working on their new destinations within SESCAM before next summer.
