The stock market

The IBEX 35 started this Wednesday’s session with a fall of 0.16%, which has led the index to stand at 10,097.31 points, on a day marked by the publication of business results in Spain

Business results

Before the opening of the market, Aena reported that it recorded a record net profit of 1,630.8 million euros in 2023, a figure 80.9% higher than that of 2022, after recording financial extraordinary, among them the remuneration of deposits in Brazil (36.3 million euros) and the differences due to exchange rates (11.2 million euros).

Amadeus, for its part, has recorded a profit of 1,123.9 million euros in 2023, which is 59.8% more than the 703.1 million euros recorded the previous year, while Redeia has obtained a net profit of 689.6 million euros in 2023, 3.7% more than the 664.7 million euros of the previous year.

Indra, for its part, has recorded a net profit of 206 million euros in 2023, which represents an increase of 19.8% compared to the 172 million euros recorded the previous year, and will distribute a dividend of 0.25 euros per share charged to the profits of 2023, the same remuneration to the shareholder as the previous year.

Endesa has achieved a net profit of 742 million euros in 2023, which represents a drop of 71% compared to the profits of 2,541 million euros in the previous year, due to the lower presence of extraordinary items, since the 2022 the group recorded capital gains from the partial sale of its electric mobility business to its parent Enel, as well as the impact of the Government’s special levy on energy companies and the extraordinary effects on the gas business, with the arbitration award against for a supply contract with Qatar.

Other market data

In the first steps of this Wednesday’s session, the biggest gains within the IBEX 35 were recorded by Grifols, which rose 0.89% on the eve of its results Banc Santander (+0.34%), Amadeus (+0.32%) and Redeia (+0.27%), while the ‘red lights’ were Repsol (-1.1%), ArcelorMittal (-0.54%) and BBVA (-0.32 %).

European stock markets and the oil market

The main European stock markets opened this Wednesday with mixed trends. Specifically, Paris and Frankfurt rose by 0.04% and 0.02%, respectively, while Milan yielded 0.47% and London, 0.24%.

At the opening of the stock market, the price of a barrel of Brent quality oil, a reference for the Old Continent, fell by 0.52%, to 82.23 dollars, while that of Texas stood at 78.45 dollars, 0.53% less.

Currency market

In the foreign exchange market, the quotation of the euro against the dollar advanced to 1.0824 ‘green notes’, while in the debt market the interest required on the 10-year Spanish bond climbed to 3.351%.
