A new learning age at Rovira i Virgili University
Rovira i Virgili University (URV) has launched an innovative initiative to expand learning options with its microcredential program. Through the URV Foundation’s Lifelong Learning Center, students can now access a wide range of courses designed to meet the needs of the current labor market.
What are microcredentials?
Microcredials are short formations that offer less than 15 credits, focused on those who seek to acquire specific skills or update their knowledge quickly and effectively. These trainings are the result of collaborative work with local companies, ensuring that the contents are aligned with the demands of the market.
Benefits of this program
In addition to being digital and stackable, microcredials are homologable to European level, which facilitates their recognition in a wider professional context. This represents a great opportunity for those who seek to improve their employability.
Financing and opportunities for students
The microcredial program is mainly funded by the Microcreds Plan, an initiative of the Ministry of Universities that provides funds from the recovery and resilience mechanism. This aid can cover up to 70% of the course costs for residents between 25 and 64 years old.
Scholarships for children under 25
Students under the age of 25 can benefit from the Santander scholarships, which offer a discount of 300 euros in enrollment. These scholarships will be available from April 16 through the App.Santanderopenacademy.com website.
The training offer: diversity of courses
The microcredial offer includes courses such as ‘Diversity Management and Inclusion of Companies’, ‘Management and Management of the Supply Chain’, and ‘Introduction to Viticulture’, among others. Each course is designed to provide practical knowledge in fields such as economics, engineering, oenology and information technologies.
Collaboration with the business fabric
The active participation of companies in the region is crucial to ensure that these microcredentials are effective and relevant. This allows to design training adapted to the specific needs of the market, thus creating a direct bond between education and employment.
The future of continuous learning
With the expansion of microcredentials, the URV reaffirms its commitment to continuous learning. This initiative not only seeks to facilitate access to training, but also to better prepare students to meet the challenges of the current and future work world.
