The Provincial Council of Valencia will improve the northern access to the urban center of Rafelguaraf

The Diputació de Valencia plans to undertake the improvement of the northern access to the urban center of Rafelguaraf through a remodeling of the current roundabout. The Roads area, led by the second vice-president Reme Mazzolari, has drawn up the project whose main objective is the construction of a new branch that allows to connect with the ring road of the municipality, in order to avoid having to cross the urban core to those vehicles that want to continue their route along the CV-576 road.

Creation of a connecting branch in the north of the municipality

Specifically, what is proposed is to create a connecting branch in the north of the municipality that will directly connect the new Corts Valencianes with the CV-576. In this way, the motorized passage through the Ronda dels Furs Valencians, which is the road that surrounds the urban center until reaching the CV-576 road again through another roundabout located on the southern access, will be significantly reduced of the population

Benefits for neighbors and improvement of traffic conditions

Thanks to this, all vehicles traveling along the CV-576 (La Pobla Llarga-l’Énova) in the direction of Tossalnou and Énova will not have to cross the center of Rafelguaraf, “which will have a direct impact on the neighbors, the which will be able to travel more safely through the Ronda del Furs”, explains Reme Mazzolari, who also has an impact on “the improvement of traffic conditions for vehicles, which currently have to travel on a very winding road that is not prepared for the “crossing of heavy vehicles because it is very narrow”.

Other improvements planned in the project

In addition to the construction of the branch, the project contemplates the expansion of the dimensions of the current roundabout, as well as providing continuity to the cycle-pedestrian route between Furs Valencians and Corts Valencianes, renewing the vertical and horizontal signage, and replacing the system of current vehicle containment on the Barxeta ravine. Finally, the replacement of affected services, gardening and replacement of the lighting with LED luminaires is planned.

Budget and duration of the project

The estimated budget for this project amounts to 666,000 euros, while the duration of the work is expected to be seven months. The project, already drawn up, will soon be submitted to public information, prior to its approval.
