The Municipal Sports Field will host the tenth edition of the Berga City Tournament

The X City of Berga Tournament will bring together twenty junior teams. The competition will have the participation of twenty youth football teams who will play in the final phase of the tournament this Sunday, February 11.

This is a fascinating edition, as half of the teams have professional structures and this makes the competition more attractive.

The organization expects the attendance of around 1,500 people including players, technical teams, family members and fans.

The opponent to beat will be FC Barcelona, who achieved victory last year and is the most outstanding team in the list, with the achievement of three trophies (2017-2019-2023).

A competition organized with effort and dedication

The City of Berga Tournament is organized by the Berga Sports Club with the collaboration of the Berga Town Council, the Berguedà Regional Council and the support of the Catalan Football Federation.

The president of the Club, Joan Noguera, has highlighted the dedication of the club to make the tournament better every year and the effort to be able to bring renowned teams.

The director of the Tournament, Sergi Torrabadella, has shared that all the professional teams that will compete will come with their most powerful teams because it is a way to measure the strengths.

An event that promotes grassroots sport

From the administrations, the mutual collaboration with the club has been highlighted precisely to make this tournament a success.

One of the novelties this year is the change in the format of the competition. On this occasion, the preliminary phase was contested on December 30 and the six best teams secured a place for the final phase on February 11.

In this way, the final phase of the Ciutat de Berga Tournament will feature twenty teams divided into four groups.

The group stage matches will be played between 08:30 and 16:45 on Sunday. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the tournament will be played from 16:50 to 18:50. The end of the competition and the awarding of trophies will be at 7:00 p.m.
