A Different Decision
The life of Irene Urdangarin, the youngest daughter of Iñaki Urdangarin and Infanta Cristina, has been marked by a series of challenging stages and important decisions in recent years. This year, he planned to enter the École hôtelière de Lausanne, one of the most recognized hospitality institutions in the world. However, several factors have led him to make an unexpected decision.
According to HOLA! magazine, Irene has chosen to take a gap year before starting university, with the intention of working as a volunteer and participating in a cooperation project, following in the footsteps of her older brother, Juan. This break will allow him to explore new experiences and reflect on his future. Although I had initially considered a career in hospitality, this option has been ruled out. However, the reality behind this decision is that it was actually a forced choice.
Academic Challenges
On the one hand, Irene did not meet some essential requirements to be admitted to the Hospitality School of Lausanne. This forced her to do last-minute internships in order to be accepted. On the other hand, several sources have confirmed that she did not pass the EHL entrance exams, which led her to take this sabbatical. In addition, Irene’s academic problems began during her time in High School, where family tensions and pressure from events related to the Nóos case and her parents’ separation had a significant impact on her mental well-being and their academic performance.
Negative Influences
During her last year of high school in Geneva, Irene faced difficulties in passing her studies, affected by family problems. These problems were not limited solely to the academic field, as she was also influenced by friendships that were not entirely advisable. Aside from academic problems, she was also involved in situations that worried Infanta Cristina, reaching the point of forbidding her to see this person and requiring her to keep her distance.
