Anxiety for a nicer climate

With summer temperatures on the rise, many Spaniards face the scorching sun with a desire for coolness and relief. This sense of the need for climate change has become one of the big topics of conversation among neighbors and friends as the prolonged intense heat has played out over the past few weeks.

Weather variability on the map

Although the weather forecasts are not uniform throughout Spain, there are areas that are already enjoying a respite. In fact, for this week, the models indicate an increase in atmospheric activity, slightly altered by storms in certain parts of the territory.

Expectations of instability

Weather conditions seem to be preparing for a storm episode in the coming days, particularly in the north and east of the country. These storms, which are expected to be accompanied by strong winds and hail, will make a sporadic appearance and potentially provide temporary relief from high temperatures.

The most affected areas

According to temps.com experts, this Monday will be unstable, with storms that will form mainly in mountainous regions of the northeast. Areas such as Aragon, Teruel, the interior regions of Catalonia, and the north of the Valencian Community will be where the intensity of the atmospheric phenomena will be most noticeable.

Possible precipitation and alerts

Forecasts indicate that, despite the dispersion of storms, rainfall accumulations could be remarkably limited. However, it is predicted that some localities, such as Teruel and Castellón, could register between 20 and 30 liters per square meter. Likewise, there is the possibility of more intense downpours in areas such as the Ports and the south of the Iberian System.

Alerts for extreme conditions

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued alerts that will come into force from noon, affecting communities in Aragon, Catalonia and the Valencian Country. The risk of violent storms alongside hail and winds that can exceed 80-90 km/h is very real.

Precautionary measures

With the increased possibility of severe storms, it is advisable for the public to stay on top of weather updates and prepare properly to avoid damage. Recommendations include seeking safe shelters and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the echo of weather phenomena.
