An unforgettable event

Last Sunday, April 6, the Prats de Rei was the scene of a memorable day with the celebration of the first edition of the Battle Race. More than 200 athletes joined a circuit that not only tested their skills, but also promoted inclusion and respect for historical heritage.

Modalities and inclusion

The participants had the option to choose between two distances, 8 and 16 kilometers, with a route designed to be inclusive, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the experience. This edition allowed runners to explore the Battle Route of the Prats de Rei of 1714, immersed in an atmosphere that evoked the eighteenth century. The shot of a vintage cannon marked the beginning of the race, adding a touch of uniqueness to the day.

Results and recognitions

The winners of the two modalities were recognized for their outstanding performances. In the distance of 8 km, Josep Moncunill Copoví took first place with a time of 32:26, ​​while Elisenda Prat Vives was the first in the women’s category with a record of 39:17. As for 16 km, Victor Gamez Garcia was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 1:13:09, and Agata Dobromilska led the women’s category with 1:24:42.

Celebration and tradition

The day ended with a popular sausage, organized by the ADF Els Prats de Rei, which allowed participants to regain strength as they shared their experiences in a community environment. The festive presence of local giants, Joana and Ermengol, added a traditional element that further enriched the event.

A cultural commitment

The registered people had the opportunity to access the Josep Castellà Real Municipal Museum for free, presenting their bib, a magnificent opportunity to explore the rich historical heritage offered by the municipality. This gesture reflects a commitment to local culture and history, inviting everyone to discover more about their inheritance.
