A unique theatrical initiative
The network of public theaters that covers Baix Penedès, Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre has launched an innovative project, the first cycle of network shows. Called ‘What does it say they do? Scenarios of Southern Catalonia’, this circuit will include sixteen performances that can be enjoyed in fifteen different towns.
Historical memory as a guiding thread
With the intention of promoting a more diverse and accessible billboard, this year’s program focuses on historical memory, with the motto ‘Voices and silences of memory’. This proposal seeks not only to entertain, but also to reflect on the past experiences of our society.
A circuit for proximity
Carles Gispert, cultural manager of Riudoms, has emphasized that it is the first time that the theaters of the region have collaborated to create a theatrical circuit that covers such relevant themes. This collaboration represents an important step towards the decentralization of the cultural offer.
Opportunities for local creators
The project not only focuses on content production, but also aims to support creative talent in the region. Thus, shows such as ‘I come from another time’, a play by Teatre Fortuny in Reus, exemplify the creative potential of Camp de Tarragona.
A calendar rich in proposals
The program includes works such as ’36 poems from 36′, which explores the fight for freedom, and ‘Death in the ditches’, which recalls tragic events in our recent history. Each show offers a unique insight into issues that have left their mark on society.
A promising future for culture
The aim is to consolidate this initiative, with the possibility of repeating the experience next year, as long as the necessary supports are maintained. Josep Vives, general director of Cultural Promotion and Libraries, has expressed his confidence that this cycle can grow and enrich the cultural offer of the Tarragona districts.
