A renewed commitment to the food industry
The Ministry of Industry and Tourism has announced this Thursday a new call that marks a significant step in support for the agri-food sector. With a budget of 100 million euros in subsidies, this project is part of a wider effort to revitalize the food industry and promote its transformation.
Details about the aid and its implementation
In addition to the subsidies, 200 million euros are added in loans that will be detailed in a future addendum. This is the second strategic project (Perte) dedicated to this sector, after Minister Jordi Hereu announced it last July.
Lines of action for sustainable development
The new Perte is structured around three key lines: support for investments in equipment for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), research and innovation, and a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. This diversification seeks to ensure that the projects presented respond to current and future needs of the sector.
Thematic priorities for the presentation of projects
In order to be considered, the projects must include topics such as the circular economy, decarbonization, and technological innovation, among others. This strategic approach is designed to promote a cleaner and more competitive agri-food industry.
The expected impact on the rural fabric
Jordi Hereu has highlighted the importance of this Perte as a reflection of government support for SMEs, which are fundamental to the rural fabric. According to him, the aid will facilitate access to more companies and will contribute to the creation of new job opportunities in rural areas.
An accessible award process
The awarding method for this edition will be by non-competitive competition, allowing the projects to be evaluated based on their entry date. This ensures that those who meet the requirements can access aid until the available funds are exhausted.
Key dates for submitting applications
The period for submitting applications will begin on September 19 and end on October 21, with a deadline of two years from the granting of the aid.
A successful precedent
In the first edition of Perte, 182 million euros were awarded, benefiting more than 286 projects in 14 autonomous communities. This positive result creates expectations around the new call, which could have a similar or greater impact.
