Santi Castellà has taken office as president of the Port of Tarragona, replacing Saül Garreta in an event that brought together prominent authorities such as the Minister of Territory, Housing and Energy Transition, Sílvia Paneque, and other relevant figures from the local political world.

Castellà, who until now held the Government’s sub-delegation in Tarragona, begins his management with a clear objective: the drafting of a Strategic Plan. Paneque has stressed the importance of the port as a fundamental element for the economic and sustainable development of the region, highlighting its role as a point of entry for goods.
Infrastructures and Opportunities
Looking to the future, Castellà has mentioned the launch of several key infrastructures by 2025, including the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL), which he considers essential for the reindustrialization of the territory and the location of strategic companies.
A Sustainable and Accessible Port
The minister stated that the Strategic Plan will not only guide investments but will also position the Port as a space open to citizens, with a firm commitment to renewable energies and decarbonization.

The new president has highlighted that his vision implies a significant change in port policy, moving towards a model that prioritizes economic growth and sustainability, including the exploration of alternative fuels beyond green hydrogen.
Infrastructure and Logistics

The electrification of the Port, with an expected investment of 18 million euros, and the installation of floating marine windmills are other projects highlighted by Castellà, which seeks to position the Port as a leader in sustainability in the region.
