Presentation of ‘Taste of Lleida’: A step forward for agri -food
The Diputació de Lleida has marked a new course in promoting local products with the launch of the ‘Taste of Lleida’ brand, presented at an event held at the Molí de l’Oli in La Pobla de Segur. More than a hundred professionals in the sector, including producers and restaurateurs, have gathered to celebrate this initiative that seeks to highlight the gastronomic richness of the region.
The impact of the brand on the gastronomic future
Joan Talarn, President of the Diputación, opened the event with a powerful message on the importance of ‘Taste of Lleida’. “We want to raise the profile of our gastronomic proposals,” he said, emphasizing that this brand encapsulates ‘the essence of our land and the dedication of our people’.

Talarn invited all the producers to join this initiative, emphasizing that ‘it is time to join forces to promote what we have best’. The aim is for ‘Taste of Lleida’ to become an essential pillar in the territorial development and sustainability of the region.

The Mayor of La Pobla de Segur, Marc Baró, expressed his satisfaction with hosting this event, emphasizing that “doing it from the Pyrenees is a witness of the commitment to our mountainous counties”. He added that ‘The taste of Lleida is a reflection of our history and the landscape that surrounds us’.
Debates on Catalan culinary identity
The program of the day included two round tables that addressed crucial topics for Catalan gastronomy. The first explored the country’s culinary identity with recognized chefs such as Joel Castanyé and Martina Puigvert, who shared their experiences with the local product.

The second table was dedicated to the formal presentation of the brand, which is designed to promote agri -food products in Lleida with an approach to quality, sustainability and territorial rooting. The day was concluded with a lunch prepared by Pallars Gastronomic, in collaboration with students from the Pallars Hospitality School, who offered a tasting of the best local products, showing the diversity and excellence of the flavors of Lleida.
