A historical agreement for La Rosella School

Recently, the Parliament of Catalonia has reached a unanimous agreement in the Education and Vocational Training Commission, with the aim of improving the conditions of the La Rosella School, located in the municipality of Rosselló, in the Segrià. This decision, which has been made possible by the collaboration of all political groups, was born of the initiative of the Deputy Ignasi Prat de Junts, who chose to withdraw his initial proposal to work on a broader agreement.

Current school conditions

La Rosella School has been in a critical situation for several years, with a large number of students who have caused the need to organize up to three dining shifts. The shortcomings in the air conditioning system have been a recurring topic of concern among the educational community, with extreme temperatures that affect both students and teachers throughout the year.

Claims and proposals

The approved proposal urges the Government to consider several options, including the possibility of expanding the current school or, in its absence, to build a new educational center that replaces the current one. These actions are viewed as necessary to adapt the facilities to the current and future needs of the school population of Roussillon.

The support of the local community

During the commission session, Mayor Joan Andreu Urbano, along with members of the platform ‘Rosselló for a better school’, emphasized the urgency of finding a solution to the current situation. Its presence was a reflection of the local commitment to guarantee a better future for education in the municipality.

Positive assessment of political commitment

After the vote, both the Deputy Ignasi Prat and the Mayor Urbano expressed his satisfaction with the agreement reached, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the deadlines. Anna Erra, Member of the Junts and spokesman for the Education Commission, reaffirmed the support of her group to the needs of the territory.

A step toward educational excellence

With this unanimous agreement, the Parliament of Catalonia not only undertakes to improve the conditions of the La Rosella school, but also reaffirms its commitment to quality public education. This initiative represents a significant step towards the dignification of teaching and the working conditions of the professionals working in Roussillon.
