A Festival Full of Creativity and Diversity
The city of Tarragona is preparing to host its eleventh edition of the Tarragona International Theater Festival (FITT), an event that promises four intense days full of varied shows. From August 28 to 31, the festival will bring together a total of twelve companies that will present thirteen shows in a total of twenty-four functions.
Inauguration With a Multidisciplinary Tone
The festival will begin with a unique proposal from the Pippo Delbono Company, which will stage ‘La Gioia’, a show that fuses dance, clowning and circus arts. In addition, before the official start, the artists of the Latal Company will enliven the public with a traveling show called ‘Les Pompiers’, which will tour the streets of Tarragona.
Musical Nights and Fun on the Walk
One of the most innovative aspects of this edition is the incorporation of live music during the nights. Belén Natalí will be the first artist to perform on Wednesday, followed by DJ Ecléctico and Svetlana, who will offer concerts full of energy and humor. These performances will be held in Paseo de les Palmeres, which will become the heart of the festival.
Featured and New Shows
The Camp de Mart gardens will be the setting for ‘Lost Dog’, a puppet show recognized for its originality. In addition, the company Chamán Producciones will present ‘Oveja Perdida’, a work that addresses issues of social isolation and job insecurity. The diversity of proposals is complemented by ‘Bürstner’s Club’, a reflection on the nomadic life of circus artists.
Current Issues and Critical Reflections
The play ‘Altsasu’, which explores a controversial judicial incident, promises to generate debate among viewers. This play highlights the theater’s ability to address relevant social and political issues.
Expansion of the FITT in New Municipalities
The festival is expanding this year with the participation of new municipalities such as El Morell and La Canonja. Llordes, a show that combines the world of podcasts with the world of drag, can be seen in several venues, showing FITT’s desire to bring theater to a wider audience.
Complementary Activities and Workshops
FITT is not only limited to performances, but will also offer creative workshops such as ‘The Borders of Fiction’ and ‘The Art of Transformation’, led by renowned professionals. This formative approach complements the festival experience, offering a deeper immersion in the world of theatre.
Tickets and Special Offers
Attendees can purchase tickets and passes through the festival’s website, with new features such as the ‘Pack DDUO’ and ‘Pack TTRIO’, which offer discounts for those who want to enjoy multiple shows.
A Promising Future for the Theatre
With such a diverse and innovative offer, the FITT is positioned as one of the most relevant theater festivals in the region. Its ability to fuse diverse arts and address contemporary issues is a sign of the transformative power of theater in today’s society.
