Discover the beauty of Vimbodí and Poblet through painting
Once again, the VIII Potau-Campdesuñer Speed Painting Contest is being held in Vimbodí and Poblet, a unique opportunity for local and national artists to embody the beauty of the municipality through their artistic creations.
Awards that value creativity and talent
The competition, which will be held on the morning of Saturday 25 May, offers five cash prizes with values that recognize the creativity and talent of the artists. In addition to the general prizes awarded with 700 euros, 500 euros, 300 euros and 100 euros, there will also be a special prize of 700 euros for the best representation of the town’s glassmaking character, called the Glass Village special prize.
Participation open to all artists
All interested artists are invited to participate in this contest. Pre-registration by e-mail to the Town Hall is a way to facilitate the preparation of the competition. Each participant will be able to present a single work, which will have to be done on site, using free techniques and procedures. The size of the support is also free, with the condition that it has a white or single color background.
An opportunity to honor the local artistic tradition
The Potau-Campdesuñer Rapid Painting Competition is a way of paying tribute to the prominent Vimbodí painters Joan Potau i Martell and Adrià Campdesuñer i Vendrell, who had a significant influence on the development of the pictorial arts in Vimbodí and Poblet during the first half of the 20th century . In addition, this initiative of the Vimbodí and Poblet City Council also reinforces the appreciation of art and culture and highlights the beauty of the town of Vimbodí, the monastery of Poblet and its surroundings, which have been sources of inspiration for numerous artists over time.
