Stay in Marivent
The royal family’s agenda for their traditional stay in Marivent, Mallorca, is already outlined. Although some details have not yet been finalized, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía are well aware of their commitments on the island. As they prepare to fulfill them, they enjoy a separate time of rest, away from public attention, before returning to their official responsibilities.
Start of vacation
The first event in Mallorca will be only for King Felipe VI, who will arrive in Palma on July 23 to start his vacation. The following day, the monarch will receive local authorities at the La Almudaina Palace on July 24.
Official activities and rest
Later, on July 26, Felipe will attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris. There he will meet Queen Letizia, after spending a few days apart. Both are expected to have dinner with Emmanuel Macron and other authorities the day before. On July 27, Felipe and Letizia will be back in Palma de Mallorca, where they will be reunited with their daughters. That day, it is likely that the King will go sailing, one of his favorite activities during the holidays. Meanwhile, Letizia will attend the closing gala of the Atlàntida film festival and present the Masters of Cinema award to Michael Douglas.
More commitments on the island
On the afternoon of July 29, the Kings, together with Queen Sofia, will receive a representation of Balearic society at the Marivent Palace. It is expected that the Queen Emeritus will also appear in some official photographs. During this period, there will be no shortage of traditional photos of the royal family in emblematic places on the island. The previous summer, the setting was the Alfàbia gardens, a site with history dating back to the Islamic era and was declared a national artistic monument in 1954.
Independent rest moments
A topic of interest has been how the four main members of the royal family will spend their downtime before engagements in Mallorca. Felipe left Zarzuela last Friday in the company of friends and will be enjoying a mini vacation until July 23. Letizia has also dedicated these days to resting with those close to her, and it is expected that she will extend this time until July 25, when she must be in Paris. Leonor and Sofía are not far behind and also enjoy getaways with their friends.
Private destinations to protect your privacy
What is not known are the exact destinations that the Kings and their daughters have chosen for this period of rest. The Royal Family has been keeping the family’s private vacation spots a secret for years, a strategy that seeks to protect their privacy and reduce media exposure.
