An opportunity to enjoy the music
From Saturday 27 April to 1 June, Agullent will host a new edition of the May Music Festival. This annual event is a unique opportunity for music lovers to enjoy a varied and quality program.
Outstanding concerts and performances
The festival will begin with the theatrical adaptation of ‘El ferrer de Bélgida’ by Enric Valor, with music by Josep Maria Bru. This performance will be performed by the instrumental group of the Agrupació Musical d’Agullent, with scenography by the Theater Group l’Altet de l’Aire and directed by Juan Martí.
Other notable performances include a Lyrical Gala concert with the interpretation of zarzuela and opera works by the Agullent Musical Group and the singing students of the “Josep Melcior Gomis” Professional Conservatory of Music in Ontinyent. There will also be a musical-plastic proposal entitled ‘Panta Rhei’ by the composer Josep Maria Bru and the plastic artist Joan Sancarles, accompanied by the exhibition ‘The paper of memory’ by Sancarles.
The festival will also include performances for the young audience, such as the performance of the young singer Ramon Ferri from Agullento at Casal Jove. In addition, the Orfeu Ensemble de Cambra will offer a concert of classical, romantic and avant-garde music for cello, violin and piano in different formations.
To conclude the Music Festival of May 2024, a Popular Sarau will be held by the Rondalla La Comarcal at the Font Jordana and the performance of the Trio Saint-Saëns at the Municipal Auditorium.
Quality programming
Maria Herrero, Councilor for Culture, highlighted the variety and quality of the festival’s programming. The aim is to promote the musicians of Agullent and their projects, as well as to offer new and different proposals in the musical scene. In addition, some of the activities have a charitable aspect, since the funds raised in the performances of ‘El ferrer de Bélgida’ and the Lyrical Gala will be allocated in full to the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Agullent.
The councilor invites all the citizens of Agullent and the region to attend the various performances and enjoy good music.
