The Sagrada Família promotes social projects
The Sagrada Família has announced the resolution of the 2023 call for grants linked to the Social Action Fund of the Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família Foundation. This call has earmarked an allocation of 2.3 million euros for social projects.
Diversity of selected projects
Among the 56 projects selected, the Llar Pere Oliveras program of Càritas Diocesana de Barcelona stands out, which offers a residential resource for people in the process of social reintegration. Other projects have also been included such as the AIDA Unit of the Fundació Concepció Juvanteny, which provides comprehensive care to victims of abuse, and the program for detecting and accompanying elderly people in the Ciutat Vella neighborhood of Barcelona, promoted by the Community of Sant’Egidio
In addition, the Social Action Fund will also support entities that defend the rights and care of migrants, such as Migra Studium, and other initiatives such as the Ajuda i Esperança Foundation’s Telephone of Hope and the Camins project inclusion of Nexe Private Foundation, which offers specialized support to children, young people and their families.
The project of the Dos de Deu association has also been included, which aims to improve the neighborhood of Sagrada Família and meet the basic needs of its residents.
Calling and evaluation of projects
Interested entities could submit their applications between December 18, 2023 and January 31, 2024. The project evaluation process began on February 1 and was carried out by a jury and a committee technician designated for this purpose. Qualitative, technical and economic criteria were assessed, according to the established bases. In total, 650 projects were received, of which 276 were considered eligible.
